Competitions guidelines

Objective
The objective of the SEENET poster competition is to raise awareness among pupils on the importance of connectivity for nature conservation.

Theme
The theme of the poster should be connectivity

The SEENET team has selected a few examples showing real cases where connectivity plays a mayor role in nature conservation. The proposed examples are merely for inspiration.

Target participants
All schools and officially recognized youth groups from countries in the South-East Europe and the Black Sea area are eligible for the SEENET competition.

The participants will be pupils between 7 and 12 years (groups or individuals) representing schools from Bulgaria, Rumania, Serbia, Montenegro, Turkey, Croatia, the Russian Federation or Ukraine.

All entries must be supported by a school. No individual entries will be accepted.

The limit to the number of entries that may be submitted by a school is 3 posters per class. However each pupil or team of pupils may only submit one entry.

Poster format and submission
The original poster should be made in a size not bigger than A3.

The poster should be scanned and submitted electronically by the teacher at poster.seenet.info.

If the poster contained any text, the poster should be submitted accompanied by the text translated into English.

The scanned image must not be bigger than 530 pixels X 350 pixels. Maximum permitted file size is 500 KB. In absence of scanner, a picture taken with a digital camera could be used.

Deadline
The deadline for making entries to the competition is 25 June 2007.

Judges and prizes
Judging will be carried out by the SEENET Committee according to the following criteria:

The SEENET Committee will provide a first prize of 500 Euro, a second prize of 300 and a 3rd prize of 100 Euro to the winner schools. The prizes will allow the class of the winners to visit a National Park in their countries.

The decision of the judges is final, and no discussion will be entered into in relation to their decision.
Winning pupils and an accompanying parent or teacher will be invited to the Belgrade Conference in October 2007.  They will be recognized at the SEENET prize-giving ceremony.
Winning entrants will be informed in end of August 2007.

All the posters received will be made available at the SEENET website poster.seenet.info.
